hey parulg don't worry about submitting your sitemap to google, just submit your URL it's enough – because for all .blogspot.com domains google automatically creates a robots.txt file and indexes it in its webmaster database so that the file can be accessed by its robots.

Even though u submit the URL the bot searches for a robots.txt file on your web server(in your case the google itself is the server) so it can't find a separate server and gives error 301(moved permanently) or error 302(moved temporarly). When u buy a custom domain and host ur own server then u can upload a robots.txt file n submit your sitemap.

Is the info sufficient???

Hope to hear from u soon!
